Garuda, the celestial bird flew away with the Kumbh holding the nectar For 12 Divine Years 

During Conflict Between Devas and Danavas. Due to his Flight from one place to another, the drops of nectar fell at 12 places on earth During Each Year.

Godavari river in Nashik (Maharastra),
Shipra river in Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh),
Ganges river in Haridwar(Uttarakhand),
Convergence of the Ganges, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers in Allahabad/Prayag (Uttar Pradesh).
Kumbhkonam in Tamil Nadu,
Rameshwaram in Tamil Nadu,
Simariya Ghat in Begusarai district of Bihar,
Jagannath Puri in Orissa,
Gangasagar in Bengal,
Guwahati in Assam,
Dwarka in Gujarat and
Kuruskshetra in Haryana.
Final City - Vrindavan


At the End of His 12 Divine Year, Having Traveled   Through Above 12 Places ,'Garuda' sat to take rest on Kadamb tree at Kali Dah in Vrindaban with the nectar pitcher  whose drops fell here also
